What I once viewed as a relaxing splurge, I now consider therapy… and it’s money well spent!

Have you ever had a massage?  I’ve had many throughout my adult life… usually as part of a spa day where I got spoiled rotten or on vacation where it’s meant to totally relax you.  I have always loved them but viewed them as a splurge.  Something to do when you have extra money burning a hole in your pocket.

I’ve definitely changed my thinking and it’s all because of one girl.  Her name is Faith.  I’ve had many massages the last 20 years but never found someone that I wanted to go back and see a second time.  They were all good but never great.  Enjoyable but not ahhhhmazing!

Let me tell you, Faith at Simply Well Massage in Mahomet has changed all that.  I first started going to her when she was in school and was giving free massages a couple years ago.  Ummm, who would ever turn down a free massage?!  So I got to have a few while she was learning and free.  She was already ahhhhmazing as a student so I knew I’d continue to see her even when I had to pay. 😉 Her hands are so powerful.  She has quite the gift.

She relocated back to Mahomet in January and opened up her business in the basement of the Gray Chiropractic Building at 207 E. Oak St, Mahomet.  As soon as I heard she was back in town, I made an appointment right away.  I’ve been going about once a month ever since.  This past Wednesday, I had another hour long massage (next time, I’m scheduling for the 90 minute) and yesterday, the day after, is the best I’ve felt in weeks.

Her massages relax me but I no longer view massages as a luxury.   Why?

I have chronic issues with my back and some days, it hurts so bad I have to crawl out of bed.  Yesterday, I popped out of bed like it was nothing.  I did not have to change my motions when bending over to put my pants on either which was the first time in weeks.  Because of my back pain I am often compensating other movements because my back hurts which just creates issues in my neck, knees, feet, etc.  Often, everything hurts on me and it all stems from my back.

And Faith, helps alleviate those issues short term.  She won’t fix me long term.  Nothing will.  Doctors have even mentioned if my pain becomes unbearable there are surgery options but they really discourage it. So it’s just issues I have to manage. And I deal with them.  And thanks to Faith, I deal with them even better than I had before.  She gives great relaxing massages.  But what she does amazingly well is really works you body to loosen everything up to make your body move more fluidly day to day.  She is the only massage therapist I’ve ever gone back to a second time.  And now, I’m on my tenth or eleventh visit and I won’t stop.

It’s no longer a luxury service to me.  It’s a service that is helping me be the best I can be, alleviating tight muscles while also providing me relaxation at the same time.  Yeah, I totally fell asleep on Wednesday while she was massaging me. ha!  But I’m serious.  She’s that good!

I was telling her how much I appreciate the knowledge for massage therapy she has, strength in her hands and the knowledge about muscle movement she has shared with me.  So Faith gave me 3 coupons to offer to my readers at random. Coupons are good for $10 off a massage with Faith at Simply Well Massage.   I don’t want these coupons to go to waste so please only comment on this post if you plan to schedule your massage before the end of May.  I’ll choose 3 people at random on Monday, May 2nd.

XOXOXO

I get migraines and also have Plantar Fasciitis that massage greatly helps! I agree Heather, Faith’s hands are incredibly powerful… my feet felt great relief after my massage with her!

  6. Sooo, just finished up an evening of yard work, you know–stooping, bending, pulling, digging–and I sat down to check FB. After reading your post, I checked out the Simply Well page, and could only image how good a massage would feel about now! My experience has been limited to the self-indulgent splurge around the holidays and the occasional chair massage at work, compliments of my boss. The foot massage sounds like it would be “to die for!!!!” Sign me up!

  7. I have been looking for someone just like this. I keep wanting a good recommendation and it sounds like a finally found one. Thanks Heather!!

  8. I’ve been looking for a great masseuse also. I found one, but then she quit several years back. 🙁 I would love to have a great massage and in Mahomet too!!

  9. Heck yeah, I would love to try her. I have only had 1 massage and wasn’t that impressed. I know I just didn’t go to the right place and as you said you used to see it as a splurge so I just haven’t had the chance to get another. You are awesome on what you offer your followers!
